What is FIEO Certification and Membership

 

FIEO is one of the agencies authorized to issue Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin FIEO is recognised by the export promotion council of India to issue registration cum membership certificates to its members.

If an eligible exporter wants to take benefits of FIEO, then they are required to obtain RCMC certificate to avail export benefit under the foreign trade policy.

 

Types of FIEO membership

FIEO registration can be categorized the following types:

                              1. Ordinary Membership: As the name implies, ordinary membership is an entry level membership offered by FIEO to the small & new firms that are engaged in exports and imports in india.
                              2. Associate membership: Associate membership is an extended version of ordinary membership. It is usually available by the large exporters and importers or old members of the FIEO federation.

 


 

Documents Required for FIEO RCMC Registration

 

For registration as an exporter apply through Online and followed by the following documents are required to be produced as hard copies.

  • IEC Code certificate
  • Letter of authority on organizations letterhead
  • MSME/SSI/IEM certificate
  • Self certificate for their Export houses as per eligibility criteria i.e. for, (one star export house, two star export house, three star export house, four star export house, five star export house or state export house )

Once RCMC is issued exporters can file an application in the to become a member of EPC (Export promotion council).

The following documents are required to submitted for EPC membership

  • Bank Statement of the applicant
  • Copy of MoA & AoA in case of company
  • Partnership Deed in case of partnership Firm
  • Self-attested copy of the IEC certificate issued by DGFT
  • SSI/IEM/MSME certificate in case of manufacturer exporter
  • Duly filed application for RCMC providing the details of business
  • Declaration in relation to the export and import affected during the previous Financial Year.

 


 

 

Procedure for FIEO Registration

 

  1. If an exporter needs an RCMC Certificate, they must list their main business line on the application they send to the relevant board or council.
  2. If no council, board, or official can get your main line product, RCMC has to get it from the FIEO Officials.
  3. Also, if an exporter has more than one item and isn't on any EPC list and the main product hasn't been settled yet, then the exporter needs to get RCMC from the Federation of Indian Exporters Organization.


 

 

Fee for FIEO RCMC Registration

The cost of membership or registration with the Federation of India export organization is dependent on the eligibility criteria of business/enterprise or depending upon the rating of respective export houses or Individual exporters.

 Eligibility for FIEO RCMC Certificate

 

Exporter/Merchant: The one of the most important criteria for applicants to have FIEO registration is that they must have an Import-export business in India and have a valid import export code certificate issued by DGFT for their respective export houses/businesses.
Declaration of the primary Line of business: The exporter or merchant provides details regarding their main line of business. For instance, if the main business is related to coffee, then the applicant must have appropriate consent from the respective boards. However, if the products are not encompassed by any board then the FIEO will be responsible for providing them export promotion
Consent From the Board Of The FIEO: The person applying must make sure they get the right permission from the right board or FIEO officials. If there isn't a board for the product in question, FIEO will give you permission. The FIEO should give its permission for the same.
